The main festival is hosted in August and features a holistic programme:

 

 

 

· Art competitions in visual art, poetry and photography

· The School of Creative Arts hosts art lessons in a variety of art forms throughout the year, using the Feast of the Clowns to showcase the work and local talent

 

 

 

 

· Workshops around the annual festival theme focus on awareness raising and grass-root action on relevant issues facing the city

 

 

 

 

· Film festivals bring movies to various audiences, including a shelter for homeless adults

· Three evening performances at the State Theatre during the festival week feature well known artists and aim at awareness raising and marketing the Feast of the Clowns

 

 

 

 

· A playful, peaceful protest march through the inner city streets invites people to the festival and creates an opportunity for critical reflection on issues regarding people in the city

 

 

 

 

· Three stages featuring local & well known artists

· Fun activities for children between 0-99 years

· Information stalls by various social service providers
